Registered as both Sculpted cristate and pleated, this stunning, diploid, crimson red Sculpted form is a step forward to seeing what we have observed in registered Sculpted tetraploids, beautifully Sculpted flowers combining pleating, relief and cristation. The pleating begins deep in a grass green throat and extends outward across the dark crimson red petals. The red cristate fins and flutes rise from the sides of the pleat and are edged in white. Blooms are 6 to 7 inches depending on the amount of curl in the sepals and petals. RATTLE YOUR BONES has 35" tall scapes with 3 way branching and 14 - 17 buds. The 5 1/2" blooms of SCULPTED IN VERMONT are a light lavender - pink blend with a rose - purple band and edge. The heavily feathered rose - purple cristation is painted with a cream - yellow applique and spreads outward over the surface of the petals above a yellow to green throat. Scapes have 3 to 4 way branching and carry 16 to 20 buds. A hardy dormant SCULPTED IN VERMONT is both pod and pollen fertile and a fantastic parent for cristate diploids.

The blooms of SEA BIRD are near white with a pale lavender pink washed eye lined in lavender. A large grass green throat extends onto the petals blending into the washed eye. Sturdy 50" scapes have beautifully spaced wide 4 to 5 way branching and have never needed staking. The 20 - 25 buds start opening in the late season and continue blooming through the cooler very late season where the CMO and EMO abilities are so important for the opening of blooms. While I don't typically hybridize for extra tall or very late bloomers, SEA BIRD has proven to be an outstanding performer for the late to very late season garden and is easily fertile both ways.

This extra large lilac-rose SHOULDA been a full form, COULDA been a Spider if the segments were skinnier and WOULDA been a crispate Unusual form if the petals pinched consistently. A welcome addition for extending the bloom season into the late summer garden, the clear lilac-rose petals show a hint of lavender-blue on cooler mornings. The patterned band combines shades of lavender, blue and slate gray with a small white midrib dart outlined in fuchsia above a yellow to green throat. Scapes are 33" tall with wide 3 and 4 way branching and 16 - 20 buds. Easily fertile both ways and a good parent for patterns.

The 7" blue-lavender and cream bicolor blooms of Soul Vacation are cool and refreshing on a warm summer day. Lightly ruffled petals have a cream edge. A large yellow to emerald green throat combines with the complex patterned watermark consisting of peach, grey and white. The well-spaced and wide 3 & 4 way branching on tall 37" scapes display the blooms from mid through late seasons. A personal favorite, Soul Vacation is easily fertile both ways.

Located in Ryegate, VT, Ticklenaked Pond is a beautiful and relaxing place for summer vacationing. The name may seem a bit naughty, but it's actually thought to be the mispronunciation of an Algonquin word, tickennecket, meaning "place of little beavers". The daylily, TICKLENAKED POND, has vibrant 5 " saturated violet rose blooms with a lavender purple watermark. The recurved round blooms are held atop 36" tall scapes with wide 4 way branching. A mid - late bloomer TICKLENAKED POND is a CMO (cold morning opener) ensuring the blooms open perfectly well past those warm summer days. Easily fertile both ways.
