The 5 1/2" rose red blooms of Watermelon Sunrise are a welcome sight on a warm summer morning. Three small white midrib darts rise from the yellow to grass green throat into a light pink watermark. Tall scapes with 4 and 5 widely spaced branches carry 18 - 25 buds and display the blooms without crowding. Blooming for a full 6 weeks starting in the mid season, Watermelon Sunrise is an EMO and CMO with blooms opening perfectly even after the cooler nights found in the late season. Easily fertile both ways.

Base color of the Sculpted cristate 5" blooms is light pink to pink cream with a dark rose purple eye. Cristation on both the midrib and petal surface is displayed in a variety of shapes from ruffles, flutes and feathers to complex coral like sculptures topped with little fingers. Scapes are 33" tall with 3 way branching and average 15 - 18 buds. WEIRD ANATOMY is a northern bred dormant blooming early through midseason and reblooms in the late season. Easily fertile both ways for hybridizers who like their Sculpted cristate forms a little bit weird and with a whole lot of anatomy! From a cross of Painted On Jeans X Tiki God.

WEST OF THE MOON is a deeply saturated blackberry wine heavily overlaid in black velvet. Wide ruffles and a fine wire edge of white finishes the edges of the 6" blooms. A violet eye leads down into a vivid green throat. Scapes are tall with 3 and 4 way branching, once established 5 way branching is not uncommon. Bud count ranges from 16 - 24 at clump strength. Pod and pollen fertile although pods can be difficult in full sun.
